How the Capacity Remaining Counter Works

Set the room limit and count people as they enter or leave. Subtract the number inside from the limit to see how many spaces are left.

  1. Set the capacity limit: Enter the posted limit, such as 120 people.
  2. Count entries and exits: Tap + for arrivals and − for departures.
  3. Read spaces left: The large number shows remaining capacity, not the number inside.
  4. Watch the color: Green means open, amber means near full and red means stop entry.

Capacity Remaining Counter Formula

Spaces left equals the room limit minus the number inside. The percent full is the number inside divided by the limit, times 100.

Remaining = Capacity − Occupancy | Percent full = Occupancy ÷ Capacity × 100

Example: A hall has a capacity of 250 and 214 people inside. Remaining = 250 − 214 = 36. Percent full = 85.6%, so the display shows amber.

About the Capacity Remaining Counter

This is a way to track free space in a room or venue with a set limit.

Keep one clear rule for entry and exit counts. Check the live total against a head count when you can. A wrong count at the door can affect the spaces shown.

Ways to Use the Capacity Remaining Counter

Use a space count at a door, event or waiting area. Here are five common uses.

  • One-in-one-out doors: Door staff admit a new guest only when a space opens.
  • Parking spaces: Attendants show spaces left at a car park entrance.
  • Class enrollment: Instructors show seats left in a workshop.
  • Tour slots: Guides show spaces left on the next tour.
  • Restaurant covers: Hosts track seats left during a busy service.
