How the Timed Touch Counter Works
The Timed Touch Counter counts taps during a fixed time window, such as 10, 30 or 60 seconds, and stops counting when the timer hits 0. The first tap starts the timer, so no time is lost before you begin.
- Choose the duration: Pick 5 s, 10 s, 30 s, 60 s or a custom time.
- Tap to start: The first tap counts and starts the countdown timer.
- Tap as fast as you can: Every tap inside the window adds 1. Taps after time ends do not count.
- Read the result: The tool shows total taps and the average rate in taps per second.
Timed Touch Counter Formula
The Timed Touch Counter rate equals the taps counted divided by the duration in seconds.
- Taps
- Taps counted inside the window
- Duration
- Length of the window in seconds
Example: A player makes 74 taps in a 10-second window. Rate = 74 ÷ 10 = 7.4 taps per second.

The Timed Touch Counter conversion table shows the taps needed in each window to reach common tap rates.

About the Timed Touch Counter
A Timed Touch Counter is a speed test that counts taps inside a fixed time limit. The fixed window makes results comparable between players, fingers and devices.
Most adults reach 5 to 7 taps per second with one finger. Trained gamers using jitter or butterfly techniques reach 10 to 15 clicks per second (CPS) on a mouse.
Ways to Use the Timed Touch Counter
There are 5 main uses of the Timed Touch Counter, including CPS tests and finger tapping tests.
- CPS tests: Gamers measure clicks per second over 5 or 10 seconds.
- Finger tapping tests: Therapists record 10-second tapping trials.
- Device response checks: Testers compare taps registered on different phones.
- Classroom races: Students compete for the highest 30-second count.
- Warm-up drills: Esports players track hand speed before matches.
